MG2012 Dillard Events #2

Today is Friday, June 8.  It was the first day of the trip that was a big foggy when we got up.  But....by the time the sun was higher in the sky the beautiful blue skies and white clouds were once again smiling on us for a gorgeous MG top down driving day. Jenn and Gracie left to head back home so we had a photo op at the pasture outside our room.  Tried to get the horse in the picture but this was the best we could get because the horse was more interested in tugging at our hair.

Jenn, Gracie, Pat
Ron and I then went on the 10am wine tour.  Great driving to the winery where we had lunch and good conversation.  The Peachtree Club's tour guide and sweep did an excellent job.  Had one breakdown on the way to the winery.  One car had a flat tire but they had a spare and the fix was made quickly and the tour was on the road again.

Parking at the winery and lunch on the patio
The evening activity was a BBQ dinner.  Prior to the dinner there was an open bar and appetizer of pig.  You got to pick your pork off the pig on the grill.
At the dinner awards were given out to the winners of the Autocross and Funkhanna events from the afternoon.  Our group took 3 awards.  Dennis received 1st place in his car category and, I think, PJ won in his category.  Laura won 3rd place in the Funkhanna and the presentation of her award was made personally later that evening as we were all gathered at Trip and Georgia's cabin.
Laura receiving her 3rd place plaque (along with Tom her driver).
And, of course, we wouldn't be complete without our "butt" shot to fix a loose wire for Dick so that he could drive back to his hotel room.  So we had flashlights shining in the dark in the engine compartment to find the faulty wire.

STATS:  Drove 125 miles on Day #5
SPECIAL THANKS TO:   Daughter and granddaughter for making the trip from Alabama to visit, to the Peachtree MG Club for today's fun events, and to Trip and Georgia for the use of their cabin for our Noggin & Natter.
